FAQs

  • There are 3 membership types available these are;

    1. Social Membership - $75

    - This is the standard club membership and includes entry to the running competition. This membership is suited to spearfishers who want to be involved and support local club activities, but do not want to compete in state or national competitions. It should be noted that this type of membership does not include any type of insurance.

    2. Junior Membership - $35

    - This membership is the same as the social membership but is only available to persons under the age of 16. It should be noted that this type of membership does not include any type of insurance and means that you cannot compete in state or national competitions.

    3. Competitive Membership - $125

    - An additional $125 will provide membership with the Australian Underwater Federation (AUF). AUF membership provides the required insurance for the member to compete in the National and State Competitions. It also allows the member to register an official spearfishing record.     The Cairns Spearos Spearfishing Club supports Competitive Membership by reducing Social membership costs. If you decide to become a competitive member, your social membership is reduced to $50 for seniors and $25 for juniors.

  • Membership cost differs which each option but it ranges from $35 for juniors to $125 for a competitive AUF membership.

  • The social and junior membership classes do not come with any type of insurance. The AUF competitive membership does include insurance and this is required to compete in National and State Competitions.
